MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: I had to do a Saturday edition:) because y’all KNOW Luke 1 almost takes me out every time I read it.
First of all…poor Zechariah. Out of nowhere, an Angel of the lord appeared. It’s says he was startled and overwhelmed with fear. I mean…duh…wouldn’t you have been?!?
But then the Angel started to speak, and I’m sure the words hit a place in his heart that made him want to cry as well. His name, by the way, means “God has remembered” and I’m sure that’s EXACTLY how he felt.
Here’s what the Angel said:
“Don’t be afraid...for I’ve come to tell you that your prayer for a child has been answered. Elizabeth...in her old age...will have a son. His name will be John. He will bring you much joy & gladness. Many will rejoice because of him. He will be one of the great ones in the sight of God. He will be a forerunner and will be instrumental in turning the hearts of the father’s back to their children. He will prepare a people who are ready for the Lord’s appearing.”
Elizabeth (which means covenant of God or oath) had a son…in her old age…because NOT ONE promise from God is empty of power...for NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE with God.
Too much. Gets me every time.

Amen!
These are the verses that gets me every time:
”For the word of God will never fail.” Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.“
