I really love this chapter. The whole thing speaks of a CONTRARY way of thinking, living, being. We are called to live opposite.
Where others are looking to be served, we serve. Where others don’t forgive, we forgive. We are reminded that the Kingdom is IN us. We are the carriers. The Kingdom is not something we run to and try to find here or there, it’s something growing and expanding in us.
We see lepers healed AS THEY WENT! Extreme gratitude from one. Anyone who’s been healed physically or emotionally from the Lord can sure understand what this man felt. He shouted praises and fell at Jesus’ feet with thankfulness and awe.
And lastly, we circle back to the contrary…that if we try to hold on to our lives, we lose them…but in losing them, we find them. I’ve for sure found this one to be true. Letting go of what I *thought* I wanted in life and instead, embracing what’s been bestowed. Yup, a contrary life is a beautiful life.
