Day 24! We did it! We read through the whole Book of Luke! My little morning thought paragraphs barely even scratched the surface of all the goodness in here. So much. Let’s do it every December.
The first thing that stood out to me in 24 was THE WOMEN. The women made their way to the tomb. The women went in to look for the body. The women saw the angels. The women went and found the disciples to tell them they had seen him.
I loved when the Angel said to them “why are you looking for him HERE…do you not remember what he said to you while he was still in Galilee?”
Oh, how often does he say something to us and then circumstances change and then we forget what he said to us. His words are life. His words are true. His words never change. If he says it…you can take it to the bank. It WILL come to pass. I have too many personal examples of this in my life for ANYONE to convince me otherwise.
But look at the disciples. They’d walked with him. Learned from him. Eaten with him. Ministered with him. They’d done LIFE with him for three years…belly to belly…and yet…after he reappeared and broke bread with them again and their eyes were opened, they were still stunned and said “Why didn’t we recognize him?!? Didn’t our hearts burn with flames of holy passion while we walked beside him?”
Sometimes, he shows up when we least expect it in ways we didn’t see coming. That doesn’t mean it’s not him.
Let’s stay so close. Let’s keep our hearts burning. Let’s keep our eyes open. Let’s look for him at the table, on the road, in the villages. Let’s GO into all the places…starting right where we are as he instructed…and share this profound LOVE that the entire world is longing for.
Merry, merry Christmas everyone!! Love you all!
