MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: Mark 8: Jesus Multiplies Food Again (ho hum…really disciples!?! I’m the one who has to do this again!?😂)

The crowds were gathering. All the people were hungry and there was no food. Jesus called the disciples to “come near Him” to hear HIS heart for THESE people (key).

The disciples reminded Jesus … “how could anyone possibly get enough food to satisfy a crowd like this?!?”

They were focusing on what was NOT.

Jesus: “how many loaves of flatbread do you have?”

Jesus is focusing on what IS.

He then instructed them to SIT DOWN ON THE GRASS. Not worry. Not try cutting the bread in tiny pieces. Not run around like crazy people looking for more food or even ingredients to make more food. Nope. SIT DOWN. In the grass. Sounds like “lie down in green pastures” to me.

Anyway…back to my point. Jesus took the 7 loaves (what WAS) and gave thanks to God for them. He didn’t grumble and complain about what was NOT and pray for God to give them more food. He focused on and gave thanks for WHAT THEY ALREADY HAD.

That thankfulness is the wind the miracle rode in on and multiplied with.

When we focus on what we DONT’ HAVE and constantly ask for more…instead of focusing on what we DO have and thanking him for that…we are out of order for a miracle. Period.

This is really, really speaking to me this morning. I hope it is to you.
