A Reminder.

I went to bed and woke up thinking about some of the “doom” posts I read yesterday. Many, from Pastors. Seriously.

I want to remind everyone of a few things that are NOT of the Kingdom of God.

1. FEAR. “Do not fear” appears over 70 times in the Bible in some way, shape or form. You and I were not given a spirit of fear, but of power, LOVE, and a sound mind.

2. PRIDE. Pride comes before the fall. That’s all I will say about that one. You get it. HUMILITY and valuing the needs and dignity of others is the opposite.

3. HOPELESSNESS. God clearly tells us he knows the plans he has for us…plans to prosper us and not harm us, plans to give us HOPE and a future. Jer 29:11

4. SELF-PRESERVATION. The Bible says if we LOSE our life, we find it. It says that preferring others is where it’s at.

5. BLAME-SHIFTING. Yeah…this one showed up right out of the gate in Genesis and it showed up in spades yesterday. You see how that one turned out. Trying to paint a picture that simply is not true and blaming others for what you did or didn’t do is blame-shifting. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the books.

Be careful out there in social media world. Lots of spin. Lots of manipulation. Lots of speculation.

Remember who you are and whose you are and what does or does not belong in your world. And for sure, don’t buy it just because a “pastor” is saying it. It’s sad, but that’s where we are folks.

Turn that discernment UP.
