MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️:
ABIDE: to remain, to continue, to stay. To have one’s abode in.
Proverbs 3:6 “become intimate with Him (abide) in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.”
“If you ABIDE in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7 (Whoa)
“He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91
“As the Father loved me...I LOVE YOU. Abide in my love.” John 15:9
Y’all...there are soooo many promises attached to ABIDING. But then, we don’t abide and wonder why we don’t have the promises.
When we live IN the world and are OF the world…and want what the world has to offer way more than what God does…when we spend the majority of the time abiding in self and our own desires…we will miss the beauty and the promises that come from abiding in HIM.
I know this because I lived there for a long time. I wanted MY way, MY desires, MY life all while being a believer, going to church and doing the do. I guess I wanted a “Sunday Jesus”… a “comfortable, at arm’s length” Jesus…a “my abode is in the world but I’ll let you visit it sometime” Jesus.
I missed so much.
But I also learned so much. Especially that MY ways are not the best ways and that HIS ways are far better. And that only by learning to ABIDE will I fully grasp the beauty of a life IN HIM.
