Active Shooter.

ACTIVE SHOOTER. Those were the words that rang through parent’s ears yesterday. I was having coffee with a girlfriend and am honestly thankful I was shielded from the initial PANIC moments. By the time I grabbed my phone and saw 18 texts and a million missed calls…I got Johnie on the phone and heard his voice. We found out minutes later it was a hoax.

Except…it wasn’t.

My friend and I had been knee-deep in a convo about our children, the state of this world, the things coming against them. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that at that EXACT moment, I picked up my phone to see “active shooter.”

Oh yes, y’all. Don’t be fooled. We have an ACTIVE SHOOTER prowling around on our campuses, in our homes, through their phones, and basically, anywhere and everywhere.

It’s the one whose aim is to kill, steal and destroy this generation. Ever wonder what GOD DEPOSITED IN THEM that has the enemy so ticked off!?! Yeah. It’s some good stuff.

It’s radical love. Massive justice. Lack of judgement. Acceptance of others. Caring for peers. Loyalty. Sensitivity to the spirit. The world will call it other things right now…but that’s because it hasn’t been REFINED yet. Just watch what God does.

If we were as ON GUARD, VIGILANT, TICKED OFF, QUICK TO RESPOND, BRINGING IN THE BIG GUNS, as we were yesterday…going after that sucker on the daily….I wonder where we’d be?!

Please ya’ll. Let’s wake the heck up. Yesterday’s “hoax calls” to 13 schools up and down the east coast was and should be a WAKE UP CALL to the real shooter we have on our hands.
