Keith and I watched an episode of Seinfeld last night. Old shows are the BEST shows.
It was the one where Kramer found a whole drawer full of checks Jerry’s Nana had given him as gifts over the years. Jerry had never cashed them…just tucked them away in a drawer for safe keeping.
Kramer said to him: “Jerry! Your grandmother gave you these and she wants you to use them. Not doing so is a tantamount slap in the face! A gift not enjoyed is like a flower that doesn’t blossom.”
That really spoke to me. Made me wonder.
How many of us have been given GIFTS from the Lord that, for whatever reason, we have tucked away in a drawer and haven’t cashed and aren’t enjoying.
And when we don’t cash the checks on the gifts that God has given us…not only do WE miss out, but so do many others. God’s gifts aren’t just for us…they are for the body.
Cash the checks.
