Y’all. We gotta talk about this tree we took down yesterday. I didn’t want to take it down but it was sooo close to our structure and the inside was hollow. So down it went.
But NOT easily.
What we thought would be quick ended up being an all day affair. The root system was sooooo big and soooo deep that it took digging all around it and then two pieces of heavy equipment to chip away at it and finally get it up and out.
As I watched them work to dismantle the root system, I thought…now THIS, this is a picture of what having deep roots looks like. When we spend a lot of time with the Lord and know His word and His voice and His ways…and we have allowed our roots to go deep, we are NOT easily moved. We are ANCHORED IN. We aren’t tossed to and fro by every little thing that life throws at us.
Deep and wide and anchored and hard to move.
Let’s be like that tree.
