Delight.

“Take delight in the Lord and HE will give YOU the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

We do it backwards. Typically it’s…”take delight in myself and what I THINK I want and go after it with all of my OWN strength until I get it because I deserve it.”

One leads to true rest. True peace. True awe and wonder. True gratitude.

One leads to striving. Self-focus. Self-centeredness. Being driven. And often, ending up in a place that doesn’t satisfy you anyway.

Order.

Delighting ourselves in the Lord comes FIRST. Then trusting, waiting, and receiving.
