Don’t assume.

Y’all know what they say about assuming….

This week, I’ve watched over and over as SWEEPING generalizations and comments have been made about the people who voted for Trump.

Here’s what I KNOW:

I’m not racist, homophobic, judgmental or dumb.

AND.

I know middle aged white women who voted for Trump. I know middle aged white men who also did. I know middle aged black women who voted for Trump. I know black pastors who also did. I have gay friends who voted for Trump. I have friends who live in the Hamptons that voted for Trump and I have friends in single wide trailers who also did. I know young college kids who voted for Trump. I know young black men and young black women who voted for Trump and young white men and women who also did. I know single moms who voted for Trump and I know Grandmothers of 13 who also did. I know believers and unbelievers who voted for Trump. I know brilliant business people and financial geniuses who voted for Trump.

Not a single one of those people that I know personally is racist, homophobic, judgmental or dumb.

They are ALL American citizens who simply love their country and are sick and tired of the direction we’ve been going in.

My heart goes out to those who are sad this election didn’t go the way you wished. It really does. I mean that with 100% sincerity.

But let’s make a deal…we won’t make sweeping judgmental comments about y’all…because I KNOW the same list as I typed above would apply to you as well…and let’s just move forward and remember to check our words before we just spout out hate and blanket statements that simply aren’t true.

Shew. I need another coffee.
