“You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness, you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past.” - Psalm 139:5
Oh my gosh. I can’t even handle this goodness. I mean…he’s already gone into my FUTURE to prepare the way.
And then…
in kindness…he FOLLOWS BEHIND ME to spare me from the harm of my past!?!
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I can turn around and try to take peeks into my past.
But THIS VISUAL will now forever stay with me.
I turn around.
To peek into my past.
And guess what?
JESUS IS STANDING THERE.
Right behind me.
He’s ALL I CAN SEE.
He says to me (and you): “Hey love…whatcha doing?”
Me: “Oh, you know Jesus (cause he does:) just about to head down memory lane into some harmful memories.”
Jesus: “yeah…I thought you might try to do that again one day. So, I’m here. Standing watch. Because I love you. And all those memories are gone anyway….they’ve been thrown into the sea of forgetfulness. Remember!?! Now, turn around, move forward, and don’t let anything from your past harm you. If you try it again, don’t worry, I’ll be RIGHT HERE.”
Dang. He’s good. Right where we need him to be when we need him. Etch this visual (and TRUTH) in your mind as well. When you turn around to go back…bump right into Jesus.
I love you.

This one’s hard for me, Elizabeth. It doesn’t feel like this at all. In fact, I don’t understand why I feel tormented as a Christian, when I should feel joy and peace. Would you mind saying a quick prayer for me and my family? We’re under a lot of attack and life’s been pretty difficult. The past is like a thorn in the side.
