MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️:
“Take nothing extra on your journey. JUST GO as you are. Don’t carry a staff, a backpack, food, money, not even a change of clothes.” - Luke 9:3
Our daughter will be home this weekend on leave. Watching this journey of her enlisting and training in the army has been powerful and at every turn, I’ve seen spiritual significance.
Would we simply GO? Would we enlist ourselves for service? Sign on the dotted line. Leave our family. Endure intense training for a new way of life. Do what it takes to become spiritually, emotionally, physically fit. Be ready and willing to be SENT OUT and SERVE with nothing but the clothes on our back? Would we be willing to go wherever HE said go?
Or. Would we simply stay put…in our comfort zone…not stepping out in any way, shape or form from what we know? Content with a Sunday service and singing a few hymns?
Lots to ponder watching a girl become a soldier.

Ouch. I’d have to say I love my comfort. My “routine.” Wow.... “Routine.” An ugly word. God must not like that word very much. Probably rhymes with Laodicea in His mind! Time to surrender...again.
