MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: I woke up in the middle of the night thinking this:

Everyone talks about being the “hands and feet” of Jesus…BUT…most do not first focus on having the MIND of Christ.

In other words, if we just run out there to be the hands and feet and do and go but we do NOT come under the headship of Christ, we do not spend time understanding and learning HIS ways and having his mindset…we can often do more harm than good in our doing and going.

Listen to this: “Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And…consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let HIS mindset become YOUR motivation.” -Phil 2:3-5

Shew. That’s some good and loaded stuff right there.

Being “hands and feet” without his mindset as our motivation and covering can lead to all of the above.

What we SET our mind on will become our mindset.

Amen! Always good thoughts. I was pleasantly surprised recently by the God’s Not Dead movie franchise. Not bad! But one character said, “Do you know why my generation is leaving the church? Because the whole world knows that the church is against, but it’s harder to tell what it stands for.” Jesus gVe us a new commandment: “Love each other as I have loved you.” The scripture also states that Christ’s followers will be known by their love for one another. We also know that the age old commandment to love our neighbor as our self but first to love God with everything we are and have is still in play. The sacrificial blood of Jesus doesn’t exempt us from loving - it empowers and compels us. We are supposed to be the most loving. The most forgiving. The most authentic. The most brightly shining light of the nations. Having his likeness from glory to glory. Yes, take our thoughts captive unto obedience to Christ, thinking on what is good and honorable and lovely and noteworthy and pure, having the mind of Christ, keeping our minds set on Christ, taking our anxieties to God so that He can trade them out for His peace which guards our hearts and minds in Christ. We must live wholly dependent on Yahweh! We must! And cleave unto Him. And we must love.
