I can’t stop thinking about the book of Haggai. Building had stopped. Discouragement had set in. Haggai came on the scene as a messenger to RALLY the people to rise up, complete the task, and build again. He gave the admonition to them that was basically like “look guys…why are y’all each running to and building your OWN house when the Lord’s house is in ruins.”
That’s how I feel.
I’ve been offered and asked to put my hands to many things lately. But…to what end? To build my own house? To build my own thing? To focus on my household and my individual wants or needs? When we stand at a crossroads in this nation and the next four months are mission critical for the future of generations to come?
And just like in Haggai 2:14 where the Lord “stirred up the spirit of Zerrubbabel, the spirit of Joshua and the spirit of all the remnant of the people…to come and work on HIS house”…my spirit is getting all stirred up, too.
Stay tuned.
P.S. this scripture was a prophetic word given to us on 6/8/08 and it’s never lost its luster for me. I could talk about it all day long.
