"Delight yourself in the Lord and HE will give you the desires of your heart." - Psalms 37:4

The more I delight myself in the Lord, the more I find that I no longer desire the things I once desired.

This says to me that the things we think we desire, aren't really the true desires of our heart, but more so, we have allowed the world's desires to be imprinted on our souls and somehow thought they were ours.

According to Strong’s concordance, the word HEART (leb / Strongs #3820) means our intellect, awareness, mind, inner person and inner feelings.

God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knit our inner person together before we were in our mother’s womb.

This is why the phrase “follow your heart” is so dangerous. We don’t always know what’s in there, but He sure does.

Once again, we see God’s order versus ours.
