MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: I woke up last week with an image of a friend I haven’t seen in a while. She was watering and pruning all of her houseplants in a sun-filled window. There was so much peace around her. I knew the Lord wanted to encourage her and let her know that (a) He SEES her and that (b) where she is and what she’s doing at this season in her life really, really matters.
As I called to leave her a voice mail…I began to see MORE regarding this vision and felt it was such an encouragement for not only her, but me, and, hopefully some of you.
God has so many of us PLANTED in our houses. The houseplants we are tending to…watering, feeding, pruning…are the people around us. This is no small thing. It’s truly one of the biggest things + best assignments we’ve ever been given. Tending. Cultivating. Stewarding.
A “plant” is also something or someone who has been placed to spy out the land and report back to the one who planted them there in the first place. You get the picture/symbolism of that one.
While us “houseplants” tend and care FOR the houseplants around us…our roots are growing deeper and our blooms are shining brighter.
As God does…it’s a beautiful, full circle picture.
Don’t despise these days “indoors”. When this season is over, we will look back on it longingly.
