MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: I woke up this morning and wrote a LIE to myself while doing my morning pages. It went something like this:
“Here we are, almost at the end of a year…again…with me putting my hands to nothing…again…”
As soon as I wrote it…I knew it was a lie and that I needed to state what I HAVE had my hands to.
My FAMILY
My MARRIAGE
My HEALTH
My COMMUNITY
That doesn’t look like nothing to me. That looks like MAIN THINGS.
So this is a primo example of how that age old lie “you should be doing more” tries to creep in and distract us from the MAIN things. This is how we get pulled away from focusing on the lasting things, the eternal things, the unseen things…and think we should be doing the BIG THINGS.
But the big things are actually small things and the small things are actually big things.
At least, that’s what I’m finding.
Morning lesson: writing out what’s in your head and seeing it on paper HELPS separate lies from truth. We must learn to take every thought captive.
Just because we think it, doesn’t mean it’s true.
