Morning Thoughts

I went to bed last night thinking of this. Years ago, we moved in and then bought our current home. I’ll be honest, we didn’t WANT to move. We loved, loved, loved our tiny little cottage on the hill. Never had I been so happy as in that little house. It was cozy and perfect. We’d just bought the land above it and sat up there in our fold out chairs every night at sunset…talking and dreaming about what WE wanted to do there.

But here’s the deal. That house was never a directive from the Lord…it was simply PRACTICAL to purchase at the time (I have more thoughts on this…maybe for tomorrow:).

Anyway. Then all of a sudden, we KNEW. Those gosh darn prophetic words for years. That moment when God moves and tells YOU to move. That moment when you have the CHOICE to either stay where you are…where you LOVE…where you are comfortable…

OR

You trust and obey in the face of something that makes no sense and goes against all of your natural desires.

I remember saying … “what in the HECK do we want with a 7 BEDROOM HOUSE!?! It’s way too big for us!”

Katherine was literally about to peace out…leaving us as empty nesters and just two people to rattle around in a 7000 square foot home.

It. Made. No. Sense.

But. We obeyed. And moved forward.

Last night, as my head hit the pillow, almost 5 years later, there were SEVEN people tucked in their beds in their rooms under this roof. Impossible.

My point. Trust Him (do you think this is a theme for me?!:). Follow Him. Move when He says move. Do what doesn’t make sense…because one day, it will.

He doesn’t show us the BIG PICTURE first. He asks us to trust and move…and THEN things unfold. (More thoughts on this, too!)
