Buck has this favorite tree that he always goes to. He loves it. I’ve literally caught myself saying “Buck! Don’t eat that tree! That’s the ONE tree you can’t eat!”
We’ve tried to use the b-b gun to dissuade him. Literally all we have to do is shake it and he hears the noise and runs away...but that tree. It’s like a drug to him. He keeps wanting to go back.
Made me wonder what each of our trees might be. The ONE we’ve been told over and over again to NOT EAT OF. The one our Father has tried to dissuade us from going back to with a little b-b sting or a shaking to get our attention to STOP. Buck is not bad. We don’t love him any less. He just gets tempted easily by the beautiful color of that tree.

After getting slapped by the Holy Spirit on stuff in my life, today like the BB gun that still small Voice gets my attention and I turn away.
Real life comparison: what would a sheep
do? Same thing? I am so curious. So often I pray, “Let me be a sheep Lord, and not a goat.” Then I remember how dumb sheep are and I sigh. Well. It’s not perfect, but I’d still rather go with Jesus. Even if I do so dumbly.
