Out. Of. Order.
I was thinking about how we wake up in TODAY and yet we focus on tomorrow or next week or next month. Today is the day the lord has made. This took me to Matthew 6. The word clearly states there are things that DOMINATE the thoughts of unbelievers…worrying about money and making more, what they will eat and drink and WEAR…but these are NOT the things we are to concern ourselves with.
Verse 33: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else…
Seems we have an out of order problem.
Most seek the kingdom of self above all else…wanting to make more, have more, do more, focusing on their “fit” for the day before focusing on the kingdom. We pursue the things of this world and allow them to dictate how we feel and then, maybe, just maybe, on a Sunday morning, for a brief hour or so, we will contemplate and seek the things of the kingdom…at least until Monday morning rolls around.
When something is out of order it DOES. NOT. WORK.
God is a God of order.
Order: authoritative direction or instruction. Succession or sequence. A command or notice issued by a military commander to his troops.
As an army mom, I know that if my kids disobeyed an order from their drill sergeant, there would be consequences. Funny that we scratch our heads when the consequences of not following ORDER shows up in our own lives.
Just a thought.
