PLACED FOR A PURPOSE

MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: Jeremiah 29:7 “Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you...and pray to the Lord on it’s behalf; for in IT’S welfare...YOU will have welfare.”

Hmmm. In IT’s welfare…YOU will have welfare. And IT’S welfare is dependent on YOU and I praying for it. 😳

We are always strategically placed. We are called to PRAY for the place we’ve been PLACED. Not grumble. Not complain. Not curse it with words like “this place is boring” …”businesses never make it here” … “there’s so much crime” …

Welfare in the Strongs Concordance #h7965 (shalom) is translated to PEACE, favor, health, prosperity, wholeness. It’s the same word we see in the super familiar scripture 3 down “For I know the plans I have for YOU, declares the Lord...plans for welfare and NOT calamity...to give you a future and a hope.” Kind of cool. The thoughts we’re called to have, pray and declare over the cities where we have been planted are the same thoughts and prayers and declarations the Lord has over us.

What would happen if we declared peace, favor, prosperity, and wholeness over our cities every day!? I’d venture to guess A. LOT. At the very least, it would posture our hearts to fall more in love with our towns.

Let’s take our geographic location seriously and steward it. Let’s drive along our highways and byways declaring peace and hope, favor and a flourishing future. It WILL make a difference.
