Romans 8

MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: Y’all. I’m hanging out in Romans 8 again. I mean…could we not just live there!?!

Well duh…we’re CALLED to live there. Designed to live there. In the Passion Translation the heading reads “Living by the Power of the Holy Spirit.” (talk about a mission statement:)

His power is soooo much better than ours. Ours is wimpy, fickle, tenuous. For sure…limited. Most often, an illusion. His is real, lasting, full of freedom and love and true power.

I’m thinking of the scripture right now…

“Not by might, not by power, but by MY SPIRIT.” - Zechariah 4:6

So. Let’s just give it up, shall we?!! This “illusion” of power and control…of having it all together. Let’s just once and for all LET. IT. GO.

I think I’ll be camping out here and writing some more from it. For now, I’ll leave you with this little goodie paraphrased:

“Don’t you see...that ole “do it yourself life” has nothing in it for YOU...not one thing. The best thing to do is to give it a decent burial and GET ON with your new life. GOD’S SPIRIT BECKONS. There are things to do and places to go! This life you’ll receive is not a timid life...it’s a life full of adventure. It greets God with childlike wonder and a “what’s next” attitude. God’s spirit touches our spirit and confirms WHO WE REALLY ARE.”
