Spirit Motivated.

MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: Morning Sunshines! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours was packed full and fabulous. Onward and upward to the next holiday events:).

I’m still hanging out in Romans 8 this morning. I love it in all the versions. Reading it in The Message for sure makes some things jump out, and this morning, I’m reading it in The Passion.

Listen to this:

“Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities.” - Romans 8:5

That’s the line that precedes what I wrote on last week regarding mind-set. What motivates us matters. Where we set our focus matters. Where we set our mind matters. The reality we choose to live in or rather from matters.

Spiritual realities are actually more real and more available to us than natural. It’s just not “natural” to pursue them or be motivated by them because we’ve allowed the world to be our teacher more than the Holy Spirit.

I’ve learned lessons from both. I’ve had to un-learn a lot of the teachings of the world in order to embrace the teachings of the Holy Spirit. I can definitely tell you which teacher has been the best:).

Today, let’s be spirit-motivated, not flesh.
