Yesterday afternoon I was out blowing leaves. My mind started going in a million directions…we have a lot of things going on and some days, my brain feels like there are lots of open tabs swirling around in there.
But I caught myself.
And I stopped.
And I said to myself.. “It will all simply unfold.”
I know this. I’ve watched God do it over and over in our lives and every time, I realize what a WASTE worrying or contemplating or stewing over the “what’s next” is. There’s literally NO reason to engage it when the God of the universe knows us, sees us, loves us, wants the best for us.
We just have to BELEIVE it.
This morning, I opened up my Bible and picked up where I left off yesterday in 1 Samuel.
Here’s what greeted me:
“Now STAND here and see the great thing the Lord is about to do.” 1 Samuel 12:16
What an underscore.
Stand here.
Don’t worry. Don’t make the lists. Don’t over think. Don’t try and figure it out.
Simply stand.
