MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: Morning Loves! Happy Friday! Happy Fall! It’s incredible up on the mountain right now. Crisp + cool. My absolute favorite time of the year.
So. I’ve been thinking. And contemplating. And last night, I decided. For the next TEN DAYS, I won’t be writing morning thoughts. Oh, I’m sure I’ll have a thing or two to share…and I will be writing, but I feel I need to be SUPER attentive + intentional. Listening + receiving.
Many of you know that for years, on the day of Yom Kippur, I set aside that 24 hours to BE STILL + KNOW. To listen. To receive words for the upcoming year. This year, I feel I need to be doing this from this Sunday (Rosh Hashanah and also my birthday!:) to Yom Kippur.
I’m not Jewish, by the way…so why would I observe Jewish holidays or dates on the Hebraic calendar? Because they matter. They are significant.
The days between 9/25 - 10/4 are known as the “ten days of awe”. Now, I’m NOT the one to teach you about these things…but Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish new year. These ten days during biblical times (and still now for many) were a time of repentance and renewal. A window for introspection. A time for refraining. A time to draw close and hear.
And that, my friends, is my plan.
Take some time to do a little research on your own. Read up on these dates. Seek the Lord and ask what your assignment is for this next season.
I’m realizing, as I’m writing, that THIS is another reason I love this time of year as well. Soooo much going on around us and in us. Seasons changing. Doors opening and closing. Directions forthcoming. It’s good stuff y’all.
Love you so much and cannot wait to hear from you and to share what I hear as well.
Press in.
