MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️: Last week. Shew. It was sobering. Beautifully hard. The one year anniversary of my own cancer extraction, the celebration of life for two beautiful and young souls who battled it, and we may as well throw in a small town parade, because those make me cry, too:).
There’s a lot of hard going on around us. For some, it’s super close. For some, we see it and feel it.
I went to hear a friend preach on Sunday. It was the 10 year anniversary of their church launch and I wanted to honor who they are and what they’ve done in this town. I’m so glad I went.
The message made me think about this past week.
Dan shared a story about being in Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower in the distance. “Let’s walk to it!” He exclaimed with surety.
Y’all can picture the rest. Three hours later, they were still walking.
They had to weave through alley streets and, at times, they would completely lose sight of the TOWER because of the closeness of the small buildings and houses right in front of them.
But. That STRONG TOWER never moved. It was always there. The view, obstructed by what was right in front of them, but there, none the less.
The CLOSE things blocked the BIG thing.
In other words…the issues, the pain, the sickness, the death, the finances, the marital troubles, the struggles…all the “close things” can get our eyes off of the BIG thing. God’s promises never move. They cannot be shaken. They don’t go away. They are always there and planted firm and strong.
I love this imagery as a reminder to not forget the strong tower (the promise) when the pain is so close.
I have a few more things to say about this…but I’ll save that for tomorrow. Grab another cup of coffee for yourself and tuck in a little more.
Xox.
Thank you for stopping by and saying so! Xox
Love you sweet friend! Come see meeee in the new year!!
