Total.

Morning Thoughts.

I was reading this morning and saw this line in the note section:

TOTAL reliance upon God is the DOORWAY into the Kingdom realm.

TOTAL: comprising the whole; entire. Involving ALL aspects, elements, participants, resources.

In a world that promotes, applauds, and encourages self-reliance… total reliance on someone other than yourself is hard to imagine.

In my early days, I prided myself on my self-reliance. I got married at 29 and had a business and had a career in full swing. Self-reliant.

I was strong, independent, and didn’t fully rely on anyone. Not my husband. Not God. Want to talk about out of order!?! That’s it. It’s a setup for disaster. But we don’t get it until down the road because we’ve bought into what the world values hook, line and sinker.

If total reliance is the doorway to His kingdom, self-reliance is the doorway to our own.

I know which kingdom I want to live in. And focusing on self won’t get me there.
