TRUE LIFE.
MORNING THOUGHTS ☕️:
I’m still in the Book of John. The verse immediately following the one from Wednesday where we talked about a single grain of wheat.
Listen to this one:
The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss TRUE LIFE. But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to me, will find true life and enjoy it forever! - John 12:25
Talk about CONTRARY.
What’s amazing is that the preceding verse is the one that triggered my thought process this week. I had not even read this one. Then, this morning, I decide to go back.
God is amazing.
That verse pretty much sums it up. It will now be one I read over and over and over so it GETS IN ME. You know we’re supposed to EAT the word, right!?! Crazy language in this book, I know.
Anyway. TRUE LIFE. The life we can so easily miss trying to create OUR life. The life we can so easily miss trying to save our life. The life we can so easily miss when we keep our eyes on our own.
But when we DETACH (to unfasten and separate; disengage; disunite) from THIS world and ATTACH (fasten, affix, join; to join in action or function) to HIS, we find it.
It’s the greatest treasure hunt around. And…He’s given us the map.
Happy Thursday Y’all! Enjoy your day and practice detaching yourself from the things of this world trying to tether you.
